Synopsis: From the direcor of The Crow
comes a stylish, sci-fi, film noir thriller. John Murdoch (played by Rufus Sewell) awakes
in his hotel room, with no memory of his past, wanted by the police for a series of brutal
murders.
This film builds to an incredible climax, as John Murdoch discovers the terrifying truth behind the Dark City. Visually, the film is gorgeous. The city itself is dark, clammy and intimidating. The city is ruled by the "Strangers" - a group of bald, white faced men, who can stop time, and alter the fabric of reality itself. Murdoch eludes the Strangers, all the while learning more about who his is. Or isn't. Kiefer Sutherland appears as The Doctor, the only human who assists the Strangers in their work. The gorgeous Jennifer Connelly is Murdoch's wife, and William Hurt is the police chief who pursues Murdoch. Visually stunning, great performances by all, and a killer ending all make Dark City a tremendous sci-fi film that will keep you guessing. Rating: 9.0 Irish Lasses More reviews by CJ please! |
